Originally from Port Elizabeth, I moved to Cape Town in 1996 as an eight-year-old. We were lucky enough to have my father’s company pay for accommodation for the first year, which was in and around the city center. This was a huge shock and change as a kid.

 

Suddenly everyone speaks differently, more cultures are around us constantly, and my older brother and I are left to explore the city as a giant playground. I work in the events industry, which is a labour of love - as stressful or frustrating as it can be.

 

I am a father to an amazing nine-month-old and the partner to a woman I could have made up in my dreams. I’m lucky.
